Door Decor & Rugs

I used a beautiful basket I found thrifting and ivy from the garden as a door decor. Simple and no added cost.

The front door mat HERE and the outdoor rug HERE add an important finishing touch to any outdoor space. Not only do they stop dirt and debris from entering, they add warmth and texture to the front porch.

Planters

I can’t say enough good things about these planters HERE. They’re a classic shape and the color is great. For the size and quality these planters are priced amazingly. They actually look very much like stone, but are light and easy to move around. I’ll be adding to them this Fall and using them for years to come.

I filled the planters with a mix of faux and real plants. You can find the faux ferns HERE. Did you think they were real?! I’m so excited bout them. I usually out real ferns on either side of our front door, but in the hopes of saving time on watering I went with faux ferns this year. Also, real ferns are expensive. In Michigan they only last the Summer and because these faux ferns are UV protected I’m hoping these faux ferns will be around in a decade.

You can find the faux blue hydrangea I used for color HERE. So much easier than cultivating real blue hydrangea, and of course more affordable. They look great next to the grey front door.

You have inspired me, Maria! Your porch looks fabulous! It is so hot here and I’m spending money on water and time watering, so I think next year I will use faux plants during summer! Thanks for the great idea!!
