Festive Outdoor Fall Tablescape

by

I love eating outside during the Fall, do you?

There’s something about being surrounded by nature in the cool, crisp air, and then sitting down to a hot meal that meets all my feel good requirements.

If a nice fire is crackling in the fire pit nearby, well that’s just a bit of heaven on earth.

Festive Outdoor Fall Tablescape

In order to enjoy an outdoor meal it’s nice to have a table and chairs to gather around.

A blanket works great, but then I’d call it a picnic.

We found this wood table for twenty dollars. I had the boys sand and paint it, and they did so without complaint (little shocked). It showed me they’re really growing up. Perfect project for two energetic teens, and it turned out great. The legs fold down for easy storage during the Winter months.

I think we’ll use it forever and I’m on the hunt for a wood bench. As our family grows we’ll have plenty of room for significant others, grandbabies, and friends.

I love the idea of the boys saying, “I remember when we painted this table”, as they’re holding their babies! And then I would say, “I remember when you were that big and point to the baby!

Don’t get me started about all that, I’ll cry!

Life is beautiful, let’s just leave it at that.

Anyway, back to the festive outdoor Fall tablescape!

I found this great looking  burnt orange buffalo check table runner and matching buffalo check napkins.

They’re well made and so inspired me I formed the whole Fall tablescape around them. Dahlias from our garden added the magic touch. By the way, if you’ve never planted Dahlias you need to try. They bloom in the Fall and are so very worth they wait.

See the open space on one side? That’s where the bench will go.

When I find it I’ll let you know!

I bought a few new pieces for this table setting, used some of my favorite Target finds and also used several thrifted items as well.

I love how it all looked lit up at night for dinner.

Always use candles anytime you get the chance!

We had a wonderful dinner under the trees and stars. I hope I’ve inspired you to take a meal outside to enjoy, and to take the time to add some pretty things to your table. It’s worth it in every way.

What to you think about dining alfresco?
