As fast as you can, name your go to, no fail, fast and easy favorite party dessert!

If you don’t have one then I have the perfect Labor Day or any day dessert for you. This one will always impress the guests.

And it’s healthy!

Hang on,

I don’t want to loose you on the healthy part. Some desserts really can be sweet and tasty as well as good for our bodies and this is one of them.

I call her the Pretty Lady Fresh Fruit Cake.

Of course, I use the term cake loosely because this dessert doesn’t come with any wheat or frosting. Scores two points right there!

If you’re looking for a healthy alternative to highly processed sugar ladened desserts, this Pretty Lady’s your gal!

What you’ll need:

  • Fresh fruit (at least four different kinds)
  • Whole  pineapple
  • Large Vertical Glass Container
  • Large Bowl
  • Whipping cream (after it’s been served for those who want it)

The ingredients can be flexible. Use whatever is most popular at your house or whatever is in season. Layout all those delicious fruits then cut them up into big bit sized pieces. Begin layering the fruits into your container one at a time. When it’s full cut the top of your pineapple off and add it to the top of your Pretty Lady Cake.

We made ours into a birthday cake for my Mom and she loved it. It’s also a great dish to bring to a Labor Day party.

When you’re ready to eat, remove the pineapple topping and empty all the fruit into a large bowl. Serve in smaller bowls and add fresh whipped topping with honey if wanted. I like it just with fruit plain, but  it’s delicious both ways.

Such a colorful dessert to enjoy! The key is to make sure when adding your fruits that you pay attention to the colors each fruit provides. If you’re using bananas, you wouldn’t want to put them next to say, apples, because both fruits have similar colors when cut up. You want to stagger same colors by adding a bright color like the red of strawberries between two similar colors.

Contrast delights the eye, and the rainbow effect the fresh fruit give is a crowd pleaser. This is a great dessert to bring out when entertaining. Perfect for your Labor Day get together!

Is this a dessert you think your family and friends might enjoy?
