Beyonce made me do it ya’ll!

Here’s my Beyonce country music inspired Texas caviar recipe.

It’s healthy, it’s beautiful, and just like Beyonce’s album Cowboy Carter, it’s a flavorful mix of many different and delicious tastes.

As a former opera singer I appreciate all the different sounds and genres of music she put together to make this album her absolute best yet.

And now I can’t help but want to learn more about Texas, her home and some if the inspiration for this album.

Let’s start with this yummy appetizer called Texas caviar.

Beyonce Country Music Inspired Texas Caviar Recipe

Now keep in mind this is an inspired Texas Caviar Recipe. I used ingredients I had on hand and enjoy.

Although black eyed peas are a traditional staple in Texas Caviar, they did not make my list.

I made a party serving size of this delicious mix. You may want to make less, but it does stay well in the frig for a few days.

Such a healthy way to snack!

First things first.

Pull a good movie up on your laptop because you’re about to do a whole lotta cuttin things up!

The smaller the better in my opinion.

If you’re like me this might take a bit, but you can also use a food processor. This one here is top notch as well as affordable.

Or a nifty gadget like this one here.

Texas Caviar summer meal

Texas Caviar Ingredients

  • Avocado
  • Corn (frozen)
  • Cilantro
  • Crushed Garlic
  • Tomato
  • Onion
  • Green Pepper
  • Red Pepper
  • Black Beans

Dressing

  • Olive Oil
  • Vinegar
  • Lime Juice
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash your fresh veggies and cut them into small pieces.
  2. Combine the cut veggies with the canned beans and stir together.
  3. Mix your liquids to form the dressing and drizzle over the Texan Caviar.
  4. Serve with corn chips and enjoy!

Let’s talk about why this Texas caviar is so good for you.

The black beans add clean protein, no animal fats or added hormones. The avocado is full of fiber and good fats.

The garlic and onion have been proven to lower blood pressure and cholesterol.

Red and green pepper are packed with vitamin C which helps every function of the body and fights disease.

Lastly, tomatoes contain an antioxidant that lessens inflammation and protects cells from damage.

Make this snack if you have company and need an easy, colorful, fresh dish.

It’s especially nice to have on hand at parties when you may have vegetarians as guests.

After making a huge amount of this Texas caviar I kept it in the frig for the next two days and the whole family snacked on it.

It was great to have on hand for a quick yet healthy meal.

Although we did eat it with corn chips, if you want to be more healthy, eat it plain.

It’s delicious alone or over a bed of lettuce.
