7 Paint Projects with Huge Impact

by

Through the years I’ve completed many paint projects. Here are 7 paint projects with huge impact that I suggest you give a try.

There’s no question I believe paint to be the number one tool of a DIYer. It’s an instant game changer. If I had to pick one thing to makeover a room with it’s wouldn’t be curtains, a rug or even new flooring.

My choice would be paint.

Not only are there thousands of colors to choose from it’s a project that can be finished in a day!

It’s also incredible versatile.

Paint can be used on almost anything.

It brings new life to your walls, your floors, your object.

Paint is basically the most valuable player of home improvement.

Here are 7 paint projects with huge impact I finished in our home.

1. Wood Bench Transformation

When I walked into my favorite thrift store and saw this modern looking wood bench sitting there, it was love at first sight!

I had been dreaming of finding an affordable modern looking bench to place under the window of our foyer. Little did I know it was waiting for me at a thrift store.

After sanding it down to the raw wood I went with a paint stain instead of regular paint. It’s simple, clean lines are perfect in this spot.

2. Fireplace Surround Makeover

Years ago when our boys were little we removed the old dated and very boring tiles surrounding our fireplace.

Even though they were little we worked together and installed a small brick tile pattern that I still love.

With time it began to look dated so we gave it a makeover with paint and caulk and I love it even more.

3. Paint Stencil as Wallpaper

4. Whitewashed Buffet

5. An Old Elegant Table

When I found this for so little money I had to pick it up even though I had no idea where it would go.

Yes, I’ve done this several times, but that’s life! Mine at least.

All it took was some wood putty, well a whole container of it, but it was an easy task.

After the holes were filled I just sanded and painted.

Such an incredible difference.

Can you believe someone was going to through it away because they thought it couldn’t be salvaged?

A whole new life is ahead of it now.

6. A Pottery Barn Dupe Mirror

When I came upon this beveled mirror at a thrift store I think I may have squealed with delight.

The curves were exactly what I had been eyeing in the Pottery Barn catalog. Yes, I still like flipping through at their catalog, so fun.

Don’t worry I recycle it when I’m finished.

I used my favorite paint to give it the golden, vintage hue I love. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever give this mirror away. It can be used everywhere.

This oil based gold paint is one of my go to paints. Love it!

Side note.

If you look closely in the upper right corner of the photo you can see our Senior kitty Sweetpea.

She’s patiently waiting to be served a little cream in her saucer.

7. A Blah Blond Stool with Great Shape

This little wood stool is useful and I love the shape, but the color was so blah.

I didn’t have a lot of time, but I knew I didn’t need a lot to change it into what I wanted.

Per usual I gave it a light sanding first. Very light because again, time was short. Or maybe it was my attention span that was short.

Either way part of the beauty of this particular project was that it left me so much more time for the people and things I truly cherish.

After that light sanding I took watered down white paint and evenly covered the whole stool.

The end!

There are so many opportunities to take paint and transform a space in your home.

Don’t hesitate just go for it!

Paint changes everything.

Until next time friends!
