World Globes in Neutral Home Decor

home interior with buffet styled with neutral decor

As a homeschooler globes and maps have been something I’ve always try to have in our home. Recently I was working on a map puzzle of the United States with our nine year old, and she asked why Alaska was next to California. She knows it’s not and she’s right. The puzzle couldn’t show Alaska’s actual location in proximity to the U.S because there wasn’t room on the puzzle board. Hawaii was next to Alaska as well and it’s confusing for kids who are just learning about geography.

I realized I needed to replace the globe that had broken and rolled off it’s axis a few years ago. It was only a day or two later I was at a thrift store and found this globe. It’s different from any other globe I’ve seen and I love it’s neutral colors.

I’d never thought of a globe being different than the ones we’ve had in the past. Light blue water, colorful countries, for some reason it didn’t occur to me world globes could travel an alternative design route.
I started looking online for similar globes to the one I had stumbled across. As I was researching I found so many lovely globes in neutral colors. These globes are perfect in a family room, living room, library, office or even a bedroom.

A world globe is a great way to learn more about our earth, and every home can benefit from one. A globe can also be a beautiful home decor accent piece.
Here are a some globes to check out. All are priced affordably.

world globe

This globe is unusual in that it sits high on it’s brass pedestal. Didn’t find many like it at all. Very elegant. Link here

If you want your world globe to have a modern look, go with this black and white, glossy globe. It’s sleek base mirrors it’s contemporary design. Link here

cream colored world globe

Lots of contrast going on with this globe. I like the ivory color of the globe itself against the black base. Link here

dark world globe black base

If you need your water to be blue this globe’s got you covered with a beautiful sapphire blue hue against the gold of the continents. Link here

neutral colored world globe

This is one of my favorite globes I came across when searching. Made of all neutrals with a combination of muted colors to define geographical areas, it would be a helpful learning tool for anyone. Link here

world globe brass base

If you’re lucky you’ll find an older globe like I did. This on here I found on Etsy. If it’s no longer available check back because you never know what you might discover there. I love finding hard to come by pieces, even a globe. It makes for a special one of a kind home. Link here

dark colored world globe

Loving this solid decorative base and antique brass axel here. This globe is similar in color to the globe I found at a thrift store, but it has a vintage feel which is probably why I’m drawn to it. Link here

Several of these globes are smaller than the traditional globes you remember from school. We don’t find this a problem at all. A smaller globe allows you to move it around from room to room and also makes it easier to find it a home.
Ours moves from our school room to the dining room table to the buffet in our family room. Where ever it is it’s looks handsome.
