Life As Art

by

It’s been a busy week. I can already feel things starting to speed up toward the Holidays ahead. There have been many years where I didn’t look forward to the Christmas season at all. All I could feel was the looming stress and anxiety of the business that was to come. These were the years when I cared far too much about what other people thought I should be doing. Leaving those expectations behind was not easy. In changing my patterns, I disappointed a lot of people, but not myself. When you know you can feel better, and do better, it’s just a huge relief to honor your life and life’s energy and do things your way.

I share this because I want to encourage you to do what’s best for you. If you find yourself dreading any of the seasonal expectations others have put on you or you’ve put on yourself, I hope you’ll reassess. It might be time for a change. When I realized I had the right to feel good and the power to choose where and how I spent my time during the Holidays, my whole outlook on the Christmas season changed. It didn’t happen all at once, but I took back my power and that of my family one choice at a time.

The secret to staying stress-free at Christmas is to do only what you feel you truly can. I knew this in my gut and in doing so gave myself the answer I was looking for. Christmas has been merrier ever since.

I’ve got some goodies for you on Life As Art today!

Quote of the Week

Listen to the Music

This song makes me happy for so many reasons. It’s declaration, it’s sentiment, and of course the incredible, incredible vocals.
