Vintage Cookie Cutter Inspired Christmas Decor

by

Hi friends!

Let’s celebrate Christmas with a little Winter Wonderland Blog Tour!

If you’re coming from Kristen at White Arrow Home, welcome and I’m so glad you’re here!

As we say goodbye to November and welcome in December let’s all just take a deep breath. We’re about to enter into what some call the “most wonderful time of the year”. It can be, but it can also be full of regret and sadness. If you’re missing a loved one you lost this year or feeling just not feeling down a lot, I’m right there with you. Hope is on the horizon though, and I trust god’s good plan for my life as well as yours.

During this season we celebrate joy, and try to focus on all the beautiful and positive things in the world. There really is so much out there.

That’s part of why I’m so excited to participate in the Winter Wonderland Tour hosted by Katherine of Katherine’s Corner. She is such a dear heart, and has organized a great tour.

Today I’m sharing some of my vintage Christmas cookie cutters collection.

Vintage Cookie Cutter Inspired Christmas Decor

There’s something so nostalgic and sweet about vintage Christmas decor.

When I was out antiquing awhile back I found the cutest little cookie cutter tins from many decades ago. I love to think about the Christmas cookies they helped make, and the happy times that were shared while making them.

how to create Christmas decor

Christmas in the kitchen brings back happy memories for me and I’m always looking for ways to decorate for Christmas in the kitchen. Using my vintage cookie cutters as Christmas decor makes perfect sense to me.

The kids and I are already planning a day just to make and decorate Christmas cookies.

I have very fond memories of making cookies when I was little. The shapes were a big part of the fun. Coloring the frosting, adding sprinkles, and  painstakingly creating the look I wanted was a dream for me back then. Then of course we got to enjoy these pretty desserts!

Today I’d be happy to eat a few undecorated cookies and a glass of milk, but back then the more frosting I could pile on the better. My sweet tooth’s been around for awhile.

You can find these cute little 12 inch unlit trees HERE.

This tray will stay on our kitchen island as Christmas decor until we actually make some sugar cookies from scratch. Until then I’ll enjoy this no calorie version.

Wow!! First of all, your photos are INCREDIBLE! I feel the vintage Christmas through your pictures. Second, this is one of the cutest things I’ve EVER seen. I’m such a sucker for ANYTHING vintage and those cutters are just the perfect thing to use, especially in a kitchen tray. That bell with the plaid handle is also incredible…where did you find that?! Amazing job putting this tray together. All of the elements that you used pair perfectly with each other. So fun hopping with you today. Merry Christmas!

Rachel thank you so much! I so appreciate sharing a passion for vintage pieces with others like you who get it. I love to shop for vintage finds, and the little bell came from a small charity thrift shop. My girls love to ring it. Happy Christmas!!!

Cookie cutters and rolling pins are a staple around our house at Christmas. We have spent many hours decorating and eating cookies. So nice to have those memories incorporated in a tray.

Maria, I love that you did a baking themed winter tray. Funny I almost did too. It came out so good! I grew up with those same exact cookie cutters. It brought back child hood memories of baking with my mom. I think she still has them too. Beautiful tray my friend. Lovely touring with you.

Your pedestal tray looks so pretty filled with your vintage cookie cutters and festive greenery, berries and ornaments! When I see cookie cutters in the antique stores, I also think about those who used them so many, many years ago. It was nice hopping with you.

Oh thank you Allyson! They’re a little piece of a time long ago when store bought cookies were the exception.
