The Easiest Most Classic Fall Dessert

donuts and cider fall dessert

Fall is here and with it the opportunity to hang out with family and friends.

I like entertaining to be low stress and as easy as possible. For me that means classic, simple, whole foods served in a lovely way. Our guests should feel that we are celebrating being with them when they come to our home.

And it all should be and can be easy!

That’s my goal anyway.

A classic simply Fall dessert that always brings smiles is donuts and apples cider.

The secret is to also use fresh apples for tartness and their beautiful color!

I appreciate it for three reasons.

  1. It’s a tradition with happy memories I’ve enjoyed since I was little.
  2. All I need to do is run to the grocery store and pick up all three items.
  3. Clean up is a cinch.

I don’t love to cook, but I do love to have people over to our home. In order for that to happen I need go to snacks, meals and desserts that I don’t mind putting together for friends.

This past weekend we had a nice little gathering and I served this after our impromptu meal. It’s an easy dessert that most people enjoy. There’s something about a donut that just brings back good memories. Cider is a seasonal favorite at our house. It’s delicious served cold or warm.

Decorating Tip:

When decorating the table of whatever it is you’re serving, make sure to decorate around and near that area as well.

Doing this broadens the circle of festivities and adds to the decor on your table. I used our cabinet counter space to add some seasonal garnishes in neutral colors so the bright traditional Fall colors surrounding our Fall dessert could stand out.
