Life As Art

by

Hello friends! It’s hard to believe, but the warm weather here in Michigan is about to end. It’s ok though, it’ll be back eventually. Summer is officially over on September 22nd and soon we’ll be starting to add layers and warm socks whenever we leave the house.

On a gorgeous day not so long ago I got excited about making the kids a snack and surprising them with it while they were outside.

Although the food wasn’t fancy the presentation was something I spent some time on. I shopped the house and thoughtfully styled a serving stand we keep outside so they could keep playing and come and snack when they wanted.

They were very happy to see the snacks and stopped jumping on the trampoline long enough to come for  refreshments. They said smiled and said thank you as they happily ate up the healthy, tasty goodies.

I had enjoyed setting everything up in a way that I thought looked inviting and well, cute. We were all happy, but for different reasons. Their motivation was food and mine was beauty.

That’s when I had a little “aha moment”. We shared the same experience, but we had totally different reasons for our happiness.

And that’s ok!

Living life with people is full of moments were we can appreciate something the other does not. I think it’s crucial we acknowledge variety truly is the spice of life even if we wouldn’t choose it for ourselves.

Ah life, always a lesson to learn.

Several very pretty things I saw this week and wanted to share with you.

Have you seen this incredible Remodel yet?

You want to go to this Hotel and Spa with me someday?

One of my favorite creative couples, and magical is the best way to describe what they create.

I’ve always wanted to try to make one of these and this tutorial is straight forward and clear so it might happen,

It’s a beautiful (and rare) thing to get a home project done in a day. Here are several to try.

Quote of the Week

The Gift of Music

What would our homes be without music? So many memories and moments were set to some great song.

Grandpa I always think of you when I hear this song. Thank you for introducing me to old school country music.

Back when I was so cool. Who remembers this one?

I was a little girl when I first heard this song and danced my heart out in our living room. These talented young people did this powerful song justice.

Home Comforts

Found some great deals on Decorative Trays I wanted to share with you.

This weekend seems like it’s meant for us to feel the sun on our face. Doesn’t that sound wonderful? Hope you are doing just that, at least for a little bit.

Until next time you can find me on InstagramFacebook, Pinterest and Tik Tok.

Here’s to seeing the cup as half full sweet friends.
