Life As Art

Hi there and Happy December!

Not only is it Christmas time with all the activities and festivals that go along with it, but it’s also the last month of the year.

Every year I get so caught up in the Holiday stuff I forget it’s about to be a whole new year and I should probably prepare. Not this year. This year I plan on planning for January and 2023 a least a little bit. More on that later!

Are you looking for a new Christmas tradition?

Right now we’re in the midst of Christmas decorating. Jeremy and the kids really love to go out and cut down a tree at our local Christmas tree Farm. This year the weather was gorgeous which helped keep everyone in a good mood.

I feel so blessed to have all the kids at home right now. It won’t always be this way, but for now, this sweet tradition can be done together.

Cutting down a tree together is a beautiful way to ring in the Christmas season. Get outdoors, support a small business, and make some great memories!

This year Duncan cut down the tree. As he was bent down working hard at cutting it his dad held the tree in place and I had a flash back.

In my minds eye it was just the four of us. I stood there holding baby Duncan on my hip and our oldest, Mary stood next to me. Together we watched as Jeremy cut down a Christmas tree for our little family for the first time. When it came down we cheered for Daddy. Duncan was a baby and just observed with his serious little face. Gosh it makes me tear up thinking about how fast life goes by.

Enjoy all the precious moments this time of year friends. They are yours to treasure.

What a fun family tradition! I was allergic to evergreens when I was a kid and could never have a real tree in the house! I bet it smells wonderful! Enjoy this season with your amazing family!!

Oh no, thank goodness for faux trees in your case. We like both. Be well Donna!
