Christmas decorating started slowly at our house, but it’s full speed ahead right now! In our bedroom this season, I went with neutral and white Christmas decor. You can dee that post HERE. After a few days, I realized I needed a little bit of green.
I found this Spring garland on sale and it has the perfect muted sage color to go alongside our bedrooms neutrals. I think it’s just gorgeous and I decided to make it into a Christmas wreath.
How to Make a Wreath from a Garland
One of my favorite things to do with a garland is adorn a large mirror with one for an asymmetrical look.
DESIGN TIP: By shopping off (buying Spring decor in the Fall) season you can find incredible deals and then use them in any season you’d like.
I had several of these garlands so I used my last one to form a wreath. Norfolk pine and faux eucalyptus was added to fill in any gaps and give it a Christmas Holiday feel.
You can go heavy on the pine or light depending on how full you want your wreath to be. I wanted a simple, county like wreath so I only added a few sprigs here and there.
Bend your garland into a circle and begin forming the size and shape of your wreath.
Tie the ends together to hold the garland in place. Now you have a wreath! Told you it was easy.
Hot glue on your sprigs of eucalyptus, lamb’s ear or whatever you’d like to decorate your wreath with. This is were you get to be creative and play.
We swapped out our bedroom art and hung the wreath over our bed. It gives such a festive and fresh look that can last well into the Winter.
One of the aspects I like most about this diy was being able to have a wreath that was unique and one of a kind. You can also us a combination of wreaths and garlands as decorations with a consistent design theme or style. The muted leaves, eucalyptus and baby’s breath make for a great look.
Hope you try to make a wreath from a garland! It’s fun and easy, with lovely results.
