Elegant Flush Light Fixture Round Up

If you’ve been here the last few weeks you’ve seen me working on Elsa bedroom. Her old ceiling fan has never worked that well so we decided to get replace it with something much more her style. Today I’m showing you the light fixture we choose.

During Elsa’s bedroom makeover we ended up spending so little we were able to also replace her light fixture. This is one of the reasons I like being frugal. You get to save in areas and then splurge in others. So worth all the work when you see how happy she was doing it together.

Elsie loves playing rough in jeans and t-shirts as well as very feminine things like jewelry and barbies. When we began thinking about this project I asked what she wanted in her room and she said, “Bling!” Like many nine year old kids mine wanted something shimmery, shinny, and glittery. I had to deliver. Elsa has been so patient and incredibly grateful for the time and energy we’ve been putting into her bedroom. This made me even more determined to find her the perfect light fixture.

Fixtures can be the jewelry of a home and yes, sometimes you need a little Bling!

Our oldest son Duncan put the whole light fixture in by himself. So impressed with this young man/my baby boy. How can it be he’s a Senior already? Seems like I just got him to sleep through the night.

Always turn your electricity off when replacing lighting. I know you know, but I’m going to remind you anyways.

It was well under $100 and an incredible deal,. We saved so much money in other areas of the room that we could have gone with a more expensive light fixture, but this is the one Elsa liked most. It has crystals and catches the light beautifully. That was the tipping point for her. When you get a big smile from your child about a light fixture you know you’ve chosen well. You also realize you’ve passed on the home design and diy gene to them as well.

While I was researching elegant light fixtures I found several beautiful options. I wanted a flush light because my kids have been known to play catch in their rooms on numerous occasions. I needed a light fixture that was high enough up that I wouldn’t worrying about it getting hit if someone decided to jump on the bed or play a game of keep away. Real life here folks.
