Cornucopia Thanksgiving Table Setting

by

Do you know there’s an art to setting the table? I don’t even know half of the customs, traditions, or rules, but many people do and they’re serious about doing it correctly.

I just like to set a pretty table.

It can be simple and beautiful at the same time. Life gets busy and just getting a healthy meal on the table is enough. When the Holidays roll around we were often at other people’s homes for big dinners, but if you’re hosting any dinners this season, you want your table to look special.

For Thanksgiving this year I picked a cornucopia theme for our centerpiece. I’ve never decorated with a theme in mind for Thanksgiving, but it was a big help.

Doing so guided me in what to use on the table, which saved a lot of time.

Since I had to move the real pumpkins outside a few weeks ago (you can see that post HERE) I also redecorated the shelves in our dining/music room. In their place, I put some bright Fall leaves.

Now it looks like a completely different shelf, but only a few minor changes were made.

Back to this year’s Thanksgiving table. Instead of it being a task I stress over, instead I’ve begun to really like and appreciate the art of a tablescape. Now setting a beautiful table is one of my favorite ways to decorate our home.

I began this centerpiece with a faux Norfolk pine garland and dried eucalyptus down the center of the table.

Then I added dried hydrangea from our garden along with fruits and pumpkins.

I love all the natural elements you used on the table! The colors of the fruit and pumpkins pair perfectly with your dried hydrangea! It’s so pretty! I hope you and your family have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
