Sharing our primary bedroom makeover part 2 – bedding and curtains were added, along with a small detail I just love.
This bedroom makeover has been in the works for pushing a year now.
One of the things I like to make clear is that our house, home takes time.
I don’t like to rush things, and that includes working on my home.
Part of the enjoyment is taken away when I’m in a hurry to finish a project.
Yes, I sometimes wish a home project would go faster, but rushing never makes it so.
Here’s our Primary Bedroom Makeover Part 1
Ok, let me show you what we’ve been doing in our bedroom makeover!
First, this is where we started.
Perfectly lovely, but I found that brand new thrifted bed though remember?
See our brand new thrifted upholstered bed here.
One change can have a domino effect, and obviously that’s what happened here.
The primary bedroom makeover started given that design change.
Hurray!
Primary Bedroom Makeover Part 2 – Budget Friendly Bedding and Curtains
Bedroom Curtains
Curtains in the bedroom are just cozy. Don’t you think?
It was time we tried them in ours.
When it came to choosing curtain rods I went with a French curved rod in matte gold.
It’s a Pottery Barn dupe and absolutely gorgeous.
This curtain rod also comes with these curtain rings that match.
It’s offered in several other colors, so I’ll use it again for sure.
Jeremy always puts in our window treatments.
My patience wears thin, but he’s always so meticulous about getting it just right, which I appreciate.
For curtains I went with these here.
All in all these are very affordable curtains and the quality is good.
For some fun we went a bit of a Bohemian on the curtains to vibe with the French style curtain rods.
The curtains I chose are a loose weave material without pleats.
Super casual style and I used these hooks to hang them from the curtain rings.
The curtains fabric softens the windows on either side.
This is perfect since we have no molding around our bedroom windows.
We’ll get to that project down the road.
Says the optimist in me.
I let them puddle on the floor for that relaxed aesthetic I want in our bedroom.
The cost of these curtains is amazing, and they diffuse the light beautifully.
Decorative Wall Vent
This little detail has made all the difference.
I did not like how it stands out in the “Before” photo. Ugh.
Once we moved our bed between the two windows, the view of the ugly vent cover was obvious and depressing.
How can such a small detail mean so much?
Who knows? Not me!
I just knew it could be better.
So look what I found!
This decorative wall vent cover in a quatrefoil pattern!
As a result, it was love at first sight my friends.
You can use it on walls or ceilings.
This decorative vent cover was so simple to install, no screws just sticky tape.
It may be small, but it packs a huge stylish punch.
Now I just gaze at it from bed and happily sigh.
Speaking of gazing…
You can see by looking at our windows throughout this post it took a long time for us to get this far.
The seasons passed as we worked on our bedroom makeover a little at a time.
Organic Linen Bedding
I was able to add the most delicious bedding.
Can bedding be delicious?
Yes, yes it can.
I found organic linen duvet and pillow shams that are a dream from Pure Down Bedding.
They gifted me the softest sheets I have ever owned as well.
The European decorative pillow covers are just the right blue grey to pair with our headboard.
They’re made with chenille and the perfect blend of cozy and smooth.
I shopped the house in our primary bedroom makeover.
Rug & Art
Although I really liked this rug where it was downstairs, I moved it to our primary bedroom.
For this bedroom makeover I was ready for cooler tones in our bedroom.
Also brought in are two pieces of vintage art from my stash in the basement.
Art is always being moved around at our house and I’m sure these won’t be here long.
The primary bedroom makeover is almost finished!
Just a few more design question to figure out.
Maria- I love how your room turned out. Hanging curtain rods is always a huge headache for me. So it’s great your husband was able to do this! Thank you for linking your sources. Love the bedding!
Hi Anna, Hanging curtains is a headache for me as well, and Jeremy doesn’t mind so yay. Glad you like how the room turned out. Have a wonderful weekend!
