Turn Your Fall Front Porch Into a Pumpkin Patch

It may not be everyone’s dream, but why not give it a try? Turn your Fall front porch into a pumpkin patch! We’ve been loving the experience of coming home to our own little pumpkin patch this Fall.

Most people who live where the seasons change drastically agree Fall is an incredible and beautiful time of year. Leaves turn bright colors, gardens bring forth their harvest and pumpkins fields display their treasures. Yes, I said treasures!

Pumpkins of all kinds, plain, heirloom, small and giant are some of my favorite parts of Fall. I collect them actually, or at least Jeremy thinks so.

Here’s How to Turn Your Fall Front Porch Into a Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkins (Lots of pumpkins)

If you want to bring fall inspiration to your front door in a big way, bring in the pumpkins! I was lucky to find these heirloom pumpkins at a market, but I’ve also added plain pumpkins.

Let’s be honest though, what some would call a plain ole pumpkin, I’d probably call a work of art. I love pumpkins and have a little fantasy of someday owning my own pumpkin patch.

I’ve also added a few faux pumpkins here and there. I’m not a pumpkin purest at all.

The inspiration of a pumpkin patch came to me when I noticed our ivy growing out of it’s bed and onto our front steps. It was such a beautiful look and it reminded me of how pumpkins vines begin to sprawl and grow in the garden.

Mums Look Great On Every Fall Front Porch

At Walmart I found mini chrysanthemums as well as larger ones to fill in the gaps.

To give a larger more impressive look to our planters I tucked in faux leaves around the mums. I absolutely love this look, and it’s so easy to achieve.

Make sure they have long stems so you can press them deeply into the dirt. Those Fall winds can be strong and you don’t want to loose your Fall leaves to them.

BTW, these planters HERE if you can find them are amazing. So elegant and a great price.

Corn Stalk and Hay Tucked In a Porch Corner

This year I tried something new and added corn stalks and hay bales to the our Fall front porch. It really gives the feel of a pumpkin patch and brings a new texture to the vignette.

Rugs Are a Front Porch Must

I used the same outdoor rug that I used during the Summer. Love this rug HERE. Then layered it with this rug HERE which is just such a great deal and so expensive looking.

At night I set battery operated candles out for a lovely glow.

Maria, your porch looks fabulous! I love all of the pumpkins and the corn stalks. Every year I think of doing this but the weather is so hot I worry the pumpkins won’t last. This year the weather went the other direction and it is much cooler.

Thank you for sharing have a wonderful Fall.
