No way is this the last Saturday of January!
Wait, it really is?
Fine, I accept the reality and I’ll enjoy the last few days of the first month of 2023.
Hope you all have been keeping warm and setting some positive intentions for 2023. It’s never too late to begin a good thing! If you haven’t already set some goals or just want a simple plan for change, here’s an intentional idea I’m incorporating for the New Year.
Phrase of the Year
In past years I’ve chosen a word of the year, but not written it down, or not remembered where I wrote it down, and then forgotten my word!
This year I chose a phrase of the year. To remind myself of it I’ve put it in my google calendar on the first day of each month.
My 2023 doesn’t just have one word, it has three. My phrase of the year is…
Silence is Sacred.

I’ve never thought of silence as sacred before, but I was reading a devotion that spoke on this and it stuck with me. I do crave silence though. Being a mom of five has something to do with it, but even if I wasn’t a mom my personality would still need those special moments of silence and repose in my life.
Silence is a form of self care, and self care is an ever going process. Each of us knows our needs. The needs that our soul calls out for. Giving ourselves those things that make us feel more alive is our job as humans.
At the end of the day if we’re happier humans we can be humans that bless others greatly with our presence.
Silence is sacred rolls off the tongue so I don’t think I’ll be forgetting it anytime soon. Instead I’ll be practicing it and trying to learn from what my heart hears the silence.
Do you have a word of the year? What about a phrase of the year?
Choose one for yourself and share it in the comments!

I love having a word or phrase of the year. I too appreciate silence. I’m at the stage in my life where I have a lot of silence! You’ll be here one day!! My word for 2023 is HOPE. I’ve been praying for God to renew my sense of hope!!
Oh that’s such a powerful word of the year Sharon! I come in agreement with you that God will reveal abundant hope in your spirit. We all need more of it.
Great post! Love that painting!
Thanks Lara! Looking forward to seeing you Saturday!
