Hello and Happy Autumn! I love seeing what everyone is doing with their seasonal decor this time of year.

Blogging is a lot more fun when you can collaborate with other bloggers and today I’m doing just that.

I’m excited to be participating in the Welcome Autumn on a Tray Blog Tour! It’s hosted by the wonderful and kind Katherine of Katherine’s Corner.

· Thank you for stopping by my blog today and if you’re coming from another blog in the tour welcome!

My blog has always been a place were I want people to feel like they can find doable home ideas that will inspire their love of home. Simply put, I hope you feel at home here and appreciate you my design friends.

Let’s begin!

Welcome Autumn on a Tray Blog Hop

I shopped the house for Fall inspired pieces for my tray styling. Do you know what I mean when I say “shop the house”? I basically wander about looking for things I already have on hand in various areas of our home. Very good for the bank account!

Here’s what I used:

  • Tray (Pottery Barn)
  • Antlers (naturally shed)
  • Pine cones (gathered from our yard)
  • Textured ball form (thrifted)
  • Vase (thrifted)
  • Faux flowers (Michaels)
  • Vintage box (thrifted)
  • Faux mini pumpkins (Amazon)
  • Dried corn (thrifted)
  • Candle stick holder (thrifted)

how to tray styling

If you’re thinking about styling a tray for Autumn first choose your main subject. For me the vase and faux flowers where the main focus. Everything else surrounded them and added to the picture.

Do you know what?!

I’m just know looking at this photo and realized I have a nautical them going on. The vintage oil painting is of an old ship and the vintage jewelry box has some kind of similar sea vessel on it as well. So cool!

I love all the neutrals and wonderful fall natural elements. Your small vintage box inside the tray is so unique and adds a bit of fall color. Your buffet with the washed paint finish is absolutely gorgeous. I’ll be coming back to visit again soon. So nice to meet you.

That candle is the pièce de ré·sis·tance! I swear, I took one look at your tray, and immediately thought to myself that somebody could write a seasonal spooky story based on the items on that tray! FABULOUS!

The neutral palette is so pretty and a reminder of how colors fade as the fall days go by…I love the open book too, sort of like time is standing still… Shopping your home is always so satisfying, creating something new without buying something new!
