Life As Art

by

It snowed last night!. Such a pretty sight to see the world blanketed in fluffy, cold white stuff. Not so fun to drive in but at least it makes you slow down and take in the moment. Or it should! While running errands it seems everyone is in a sprint to the finish when it comes to Christmas. As for me, I still haven’t bought a single thing for Christmas. I have lots in several carts though and will be purchasing gifts tonight!

We’re going to go light on the presents this year. In years past we said the same thing, but then at the last minute changed our minds. With young kids, it can be hard to convince ourselves that they can have a fun Christmas without a lot of gifts, but of course, they can. This year funds are tighter and we’ve allocated money toward a family trip we have planned.

The kids told us of all the Christmas presents they like opening their stockings the most. This makes me really happy. Each year I put a lot of time into buying them fun and functional gifts for their stockings. It’s a sweet tradition and I do feel a little pressure to come up with great finds for each of them. Thank God for online shopping!

If you need some ideas for what to put in your stockings, With five kids to buys for I’ve gathered some great stocking stuffers for kids both big and little in the link below.
