Life As Art

How’s your November been friends?

It’s still Fall at our house, both inside and out.

The weather here in Michigan has been so unusually nice lately that the kids and I have been taking lots of walks in the woods. We homeschool so I also let them take their books to the park because I don’t want to waste this great weather. We all know the cold will come soon enough.

Here’s a confession. I don’t like November much at all. Even as a little kid, I remember thinking the only good thing about November was all the yummy food at Thanksgiving.

So far this November is making me challenge that mindset. As with so many things keeping a healthy attitude goes a long way, and I’m trying. I want my kids to remember November as sunny days spent with a book under a tree, running against the wind on the shores of Lake Michigan, and yes, enjoying lots of delicious food around the table with family. So far we’ve had that and more.

November was my least favorite month, but this year might just make me change my mind.

I will still have to get out that sun lamp though!

Stylish design I saw this week.

This neutral gem of a home gives me all the cozy feelings. I love it so much.

Maybe it’s because I’m working on a  bedroom with saturated walls, but I keep noticing other jewels like this one.

Home takes, but the dramatic before and after of Erin home are incredible and worth the wait.
